The 2024 Ford Explorer® SUV has the strength to tow up to 5,600 lbs.,* when equipped with the Class IV Trailer Tow Package and the tech to help make it easier with Tow/Haul mode on the standard Terrain Management System™. 2024 Ford Explorer® models offer seating for up to six passengers when equipped with available second-row captain’s chairs and seating for up to seven when equipped with the second-row bench seat. Combined with 87.8 cu. ft. of cargo capacity behind the first row with the rear seats folded flat, 47.9 cu. ft. behind the second row with the third row folded and 18.2 cu. ft. behind the third-row seats, you can take everything from tents and coolers to sports equipment — along with everyone — on trips near or far. Working with AdvanceTrac® with RSC® (Roll Stability Control™), standard trailer sway control selectively brakes and adjusts engine power to help you maintain command.

The 2024 Ford Explorer® SUV lineup is powered by two unique and highly capable engines. No matter which one you choose, you’ll get impressive capability and towing to take on all that comes your way as you live life to the fullest. This turbocharged powerplant churns out 300 hp* and 310 lb.-ft. of torque* for spirited drives around town or far from it. The 2.3L EcoBoost I-4 engine comes standard on the Base, XLT, ST-Line, Timberline® and Limited models. The 3.0L EcoBoost® V6 engine with Auto Start-Stop Technology is the backbone of the ST, King Ranch® and Platinum model powertrains. It combines turbocharging and direct injection to produce 400 hp* and 415 lb.-ft. of torque. The 10-speed automatic transmission makes shifting gears a smoother, more efficient process, while helping to provide a wide power band for your performance and towing needs. Standard on all 2024 Explorer® models, side-wind stabilization is designed to help the driver keep the vehicle on its path when encountering high or gusty winds.

The 2024 Ford Explorer® SUV comes equipped with plenty of smart road trip-ready features. Ford Co-Pilot360™ Technology helps you navigate increasingly distracting and crowded roads. Staying connected is easy too, with standard SYNC® 3 Technology and FordPass® Connect™ along for the ride. Auto High-Beam Headlamps can sense poor lighting conditions and switch on to light your path ahead and automatically dim when they sense oncoming headlights. So, you can keep your focus — and both hands on the wheel. Backing up made easy. The Rear View Camera provides a clear view of what’s behind your vehicle so you can navigate reverse with confidence. BLIS (Blind Spot Information System) can help detect and alert you to vehicles in your blind spot, while Cross-Traffic Alert can detect traffic behind you when you’re slowly backing out of a parking spot or driveway. Available Active Park Assist 2.0 makes it easy to nail an impressive park, time after time – even in tight parallel or perpendicular spots. Post-collision braking automatically applies moderate brake pressure when a collision is detected. The standard rear parking sensors emit a series of beeps when you’re nearing certain objects behind your vehicle. The closer you get to the object, the quicker the beeps. The available B&O® Sound System by Bang and Olufsen® comes standard with 12 Speakers, including a Subwoofer. A 980-watt, B&O® Sound System by Bang & Olufsen® with 14 Speakers, including a Subwoofer, is also available.
