History of Roush Performance Vehicles
Jack Roush began his automotive career as an engine development engineer for Ford Motor Company in 1964.
He soon discovered a passion for drag racing and formed his own team in 1970 with partner Wayne Gapp. The duo went on to win multiple championships in AHRA, NHRA and IHRA Pro Stock drag racing over the next five years.
Combining engineering with entrepreneurship, Roush founded Roush Performance Engineering in 1976 and began selling designs he had created for his own team to the wider world of motorsport.
His tenacious, solutions-based approach brought great demand for Roush engines and components for drag, oval-track and hill-climb racing, as well as offshore power boats.
Roush F-250 Trim Levels
The Roush F-250 is built on the all-new aluminum 2018 F-250 Super Duty, and has been designed to emphasize its best features through body, suspension, wheel and tire, and appearance modifications. Improved airflow through the new Roush F-250's grille with integrated clearance lighting allows the truck's engine to breathe freely, and showcases a menacing, aggressive front bumper cover.
The Roush Super Duty has been built to ensure that whether you are hauling materials to a job site, a race car to the track, or ATVs to the dunes, you'll enjoy the ride, and turn heads along the way. It maintains Ford's capabilities in towing and payload - an important feature for those who plan on using their F-250 as a workhorse. Modifications from Roush are designed to work together and are backed by a warranty.
Do you need to tow a boat, side-by-side, or camper? The Roush F-250 will handle your towing needs with ease, and look good doing it. Roush has taken the most popular F-250 modifications and made them work together with a pre-titled FMVSS level of certification for safety and handling. Each component on the Roush F-250 was selected to maintain OE capabilities - right down to the lug nuts.
For example, typical aftermarket wheels utilize a conical style lug nut, which lacks the same clamping load as a washer-style lug nut with flat load bearing surfaces. While conical lug nuts are cheaper, Roush follows Ford in featuring washer-style lug nuts to ensure safety and OE capabilities. A Roush/Fox 2.0 shock upgrade offers suspension leveling at 1.5-inches, and allows for larger Roush 20-inch wheels and BFGoodrich KO2 All-Terrain 35.3-inch tires. The wheels feature integrated bead protection, with black and grey rings provided. Body color-matched fender flares with integrated clearance lighting, a Roush graphics package, and interior treatments complete the transformation.
